I see the countless Christmas Trees,
Around the world below,
With tiny lights, like heaven's stars,
Reflecting in the snow.

The sight is so spectacular,
Please wipe away that tear,
For I am spending Christmas
With Jesus Christ this year.

I hear many Christmas songs,
That people hold so dear,
But the sounds of music can't compare,
With the Christmas choir up here.

I have no words to tell you,
The joy their voices bring,
For it is beyond description,
To hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me,
I see the pain inside your heart,
But I am not so far away,
We really aren't apart.

I can't tell you of the splendor
or the peace here in this place.
Can you just imagine Christmas
with our Savior face to face?

I'll ask Him to lift your spirit
as I tell Him of your love.
So then pray for one another
as you lift your eyes above.

Please let your hearts be joyful
and let your spirit sing,
for I am spending Christmas in heaven
and I'm walking with the King.

The story behind the poem:
Lysandra Kay Bencke was her
thirteen year old handicapped daughter.
On Christmas day 1997, Lysandra had a
seizure and was in a coma
for five days before she died.
During those five days Wanda
wrote the poem "Christmas in Heaven".

Below I have posted a reply from Wanda to this webmaster.
"The losses on Sept. 11th were of such
magnitude that it goes beyond our comprehension.
Only the Lord can understand it's true
meaning and appreciate the true loss.
His love for us is eternal and greater
than any trials that come our way.
I pray that God uses the poem to comfort those
who have lost loved ones and that
His great mercy covers those who read it.
The title of the poem is "Christmas in Heaven".
It's been five years since Lysandra died
and Christmas is still a very
emotional time for me and my family.
God Bless you for your desire to share
God's comfort with others."

God Bless You and your Family Wanda,
Our Prayers are with you and
everyone who has lost a loved one.
